Their engineers needed to know whether an existing line could be recommissioned or had to be replaced. HELIX mapped wall thickness and screened for cracking along the run and delivered it as a 3-D asset model, so the assessment could be made on measured wall rather than on assumption. The decision, and the fitness-for-service call behind it, stayed with their engineers.
