Software

Software Engineering Co-op

8 months · January 2027

HELIX Sensors is hiring a Software Engineering Co-op to work on the platform that turns continuous sensor readings into a live model of an industrial asset.

You will work across the stack that carries a measurement from the wrap to the screen: the ingest path, the analysis that finds a defect in it, and the 3-D asset view maintenance engineers actually make decisions in.

Co-op / internship8-month termPaidOn-site

What you'll work on

  • Build features in the web application maintenance teams use to inspect their assets
  • Work with 3-D asset views in the browser: point clouds, meshes and scan overlays
  • Write services that ingest, validate and store continuous sensor data
  • Turn raw readings into the wall-thickness, strain and temperature series the platform plots
  • Build tooling that helps the hardware team see what their sensors are producing
  • Write tests and instrumentation for code that has to keep running unattended

What we're looking for

  • Solid programming fundamentals in TypeScript, Python or a comparable language
  • Experience building web applications with a modern framework
  • Comfort working with data: transforming it, storing it and reasoning about its shape
  • An ability to pick up an unfamiliar codebase and make a careful change in it
  • Clear written communication, especially in code review

Nice to have

  • Experience with WebGL, three.js or other browser 3-D graphics
  • Experience with time-series data or signal processing
  • Exposure to industrial, scientific or instrumentation software
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and CI

Software

Full Stack Software Engineer

8 months · January 2027

HELIX Sensors is hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer to own significant parts of the platform that carries a reading from a sensor on a pipe to a decision on a maintenance engineer's screen.

This is a broad role on a small team. You will design and ship end to end rather than pick up tickets, and the systems you build run continuously against real industrial assets.

8-month termFull timeOn-site

What you'll work on

  • Design and build features across the front end, the API and the data layer
  • Develop the 3-D asset view: rendering scans on real geometry and keeping it responsive at scale
  • Build and operate the ingest pipeline that receives continuous data from deployed wraps
  • Model asset health over time: growth rates, thresholds and the alerts that come off them
  • Work directly with the hardware and NDT teams to turn physical measurements into product
  • Own reliability for the things you ship, including monitoring and on-call for your own systems

What we're looking for

  • Several years building and shipping production web applications
  • Strong TypeScript, and comfort in a backend language such as Python, Go or Rust
  • Experience designing data models and APIs that outlive their first use case
  • A track record of owning a system end to end rather than a layer of one
  • The judgement to know when a small team should build something and when it should not

Nice to have

  • Experience with WebGL, three.js or GPU-accelerated rendering in the browser
  • Experience with time-series databases or streaming ingest
  • Background in industrial, scientific or instrumentation software
  • Experience being an early engineer at a hardware company

NDT

Eddy Current NDT Specialist (Level III)

Full time, ongoing · January 2027

HELIX Sensors is hiring an Eddy Current NDT Specialist at Level III to own the inspection methodology behind our continuous monitoring systems.

You will set the technical standard for how our wraps measure: the procedures, the qualification of new methods, and the interpretation that turns an eddy current signal into a defect call an operator can act on.

Level III certificationFull timeField work

What you'll work on

  • Own written procedures and technique sheets for eddy current inspection on our systems
  • Qualify new sensing methods and demonstrate them against reference standards
  • Interpret and validate data from deployed wraps, including sizing and characterisation
  • Provide Level III oversight, review and sign-off for Level II technicians
  • Work with the electronics and software teams on probe design, calibration and analysis
  • Represent the method in front of client integrity engineers and, where required, regulators

What we're looking for

  • Current Level III certification in eddy current testing (NRCan/CGSB, ASNT or equivalent)
  • Substantial field experience inspecting pressure equipment, piping or structural steel
  • Deep familiarity with reference standards, calibration blocks and procedure qualification
  • Experience writing and defending inspection procedures
  • Willingness to travel to client sites in Western Canada

Nice to have

  • Additional certification in ultrasonics, magnetic particle or pulsed eddy current
  • Experience with array eddy current rather than single-coil methods
  • Experience introducing a new inspection technology into an existing integrity programme
  • Familiarity with CSA, API or ASME inspection codes

NDT

Eddy Current NDT Technician (Level II)

8 months · January 2027

HELIX Sensors is hiring an Eddy Current NDT Technician at Level II to run inspections in the field and help deploy our sensor wraps on live industrial assets.

This role is where the hardware meets the asset. You will install, calibrate and verify systems on site, and take the conventional readings we validate continuous monitoring against.

Level II certification8-month termField work

What you'll work on

  • Perform eddy current inspections on piping, vessels and structural steel
  • Install and calibrate sensor wraps on client assets, including surface preparation
  • Run baseline conventional scans that new continuous installs are validated against
  • Record, document and report findings to the standard the procedure requires
  • Feed field experience back to the hardware team, including what fails and why
  • Support commissioning and troubleshooting of deployed systems

What we're looking for

  • Current Level II certification in eddy current testing (NRCan/CGSB, ASNT or equivalent)
  • Field inspection experience on industrial assets
  • Comfort working at height, in confined spaces and in active operating environments
  • Careful, legible documentation habits
  • A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to client sites

Nice to have

  • Certification in additional methods, particularly ultrasonic thickness testing
  • Experience with array probes or pulsed eddy current
  • Experience with instrumentation installation rather than inspection alone
  • Site safety tickets current for Western Canadian industrial work

Commercial

Technical B2B Sales Representative

Full time, ongoing · January 2027

HELIX Sensors is hiring a Technical B2B Sales Representative to bring continuous asset monitoring to operators in mining and oil and gas.

The people you sell to are integrity engineers and maintenance managers who will ask hard questions about the measurement. This is a role for someone who can answer them, not route them.

Full timeTechnical salesTravel

What you'll work on

  • Own the pipeline from first contact through pilot to deployment
  • Run technical conversations with integrity, maintenance and reliability teams
  • Build the business case with a client: what an inspection cycle costs them today, and what changes
  • Scope pilots with our engineering team and see them through to a result
  • Bring what you hear in the field back into the roadmap
  • Represent HELIX at industry conferences and on client sites

What we're looking for

  • Experience selling technical products into industrial operators
  • The ability to hold a credible conversation about a measurement and its limits
  • A track record of long, consultative sales cycles rather than transactional ones
  • Comfort being the first commercial hire in the room, without a playbook to follow
  • Willingness to travel to client sites in Western Canada

Nice to have

  • Background in NDT, asset integrity or industrial inspection services
  • An existing network in mining or oil and gas operations
  • Experience selling into capital or maintenance budgets
