LiDAR capture

A 3D model of the asset, built from LiDAR and photographs.

A plant appearing as a LiDAR point cloud: tanks, towers and pipe racks drawn in points of light on black

A HELIX crew captures the asset and its surroundings with LiDAR and photogrammetry. The textured 3D model is where the screening results, the Sensor Wrap readings and your own records land in HELIX Horizon.

The model every reading lands on.

Once the area is captured, every screening result, every Sensor Wrap reading and every imported record is registered to the same model, so a finding has a place your crew can walk to.

What the capture includes

  1. 01

LiDAR capture of the asset and its surroundings, so every reading has a physical location on the 3D model

  2. 02

Photogrammetry texture over the scan, so the model reads as the asset your crew knows

  3. 03

Every PEC, ECA and Sensor Wrap reading registered to the model in HELIX Horizon

  4. 04

Third-party 3D scans and inspection records imported and registered to the same model

Limits

The capture is a model of what the crew could see and reach on the day. Buried, insulated or enclosed sections are modelled from what is accessible, and readings on them are located to the nearest captured geometry.

Also from HELIX.
